RWS Model 54 Magnum Recoilless .22 cal 900 fps Air Rifle: Totally recoilless, spring piston air guns seemed little more than a dream before the recent appearance of the RWS Model 54. In order to realize this goal, the engineers at RWS Air Guns spent years designing and refining this recoilless system for high power air guns until they finally put the mechanical marvel of the RWS Model 54 into production. Simple yet durable, RWS M54 Air Guns use a floating action riding on rails to achieve a totally recoilless system that stands up to the pounding of the RWS .22 cal 900 fps high velocity system. Not only does this arrangement prevent transmission of felt recoil to the airgun shooter, it also permits these air guns to excel in the accuracy department. When the air rifle is fired, the action moves back slightly within the stock, absorbing the recoil, and permitting the pellet to exit the barrel before any of the spring vibration affects its travel. This ingenious airgun system dramatically improves the accuracy potential of magnum air rifles, making it a first class choice for either long range pest control or the precise demands of field target shooting. RWS M54 Air Rifles in .22 caliber are velocity rated at 900 ft/sec.
